About us....Well the staff at Aqua Tech Exotic Design started out as reptile, fish and bird hobbyist, with a combined 25 years of experience, they went from keeping lizards, fish and birds as pets to the breeding of Green Iguanas and Veiled Chameleons, assorted species of birds and fish, even some species of bugs. Mark started working with The Glass Zoo in Guelph in the early 90's going from a reptile hobbyist to a fish hobbyist. He started the fish hobby as a tropical fish fanatic then jumping ship to breed African Cichlids he then fulfilled his marine interests,which includes specializing in Cephalopods such as octopus and cuttlefish keeping and breeding of some species, this is Marks biggest interest in the hobby and he takes pride in his cephalopod accomplishments. He continued breeding African Cichlids and rare and exotic species of fresh water and marine fish and creatures for about 10 years. In 1995 he started his aquarium building hobby. This is where Mark excelled. Mark's creativity and attention to detail really paid off with the aquarium and terrarium building hobby, as things wound down with The Glass Zoo Mark went on to founding Aquarium Technologies in 2001 designing and constructing custom one of a kind glass aquariums and terrariums, even room size reptile enclosures. Mark has built/assisted building tanks from 1 gallon to 112,000 gallon aquaria, for the private collector to store and commercial size systems. Mark brought Chris onboard in 2006 building tanks at his home based shop. Chris has been in the livestock and pet foods manufacturing business for about 8 years, as a bird and fish hobbyist for many years his extreme quality of work is a great addition to the industry. With The Glass Zoo no longer around Mark and Chris decided it was there time to show Southern Ontario what they did. They founded Aqua Tech Exotic Design now a division of Aquarium Technologies they located an off the wall great location, once owned by the University of Guelph known as the vet and agriculture facility in Guelph/Eramosa. Aqua Tech Exotic Design now has over 3000 square foot glass aquarium/terrarium manufacturing and breeding facility with plans to expand up to 55,000 square feet. We are a hobbyist built business run by hobbyist to serve the hobbyist industry.
